Super simple, guys. For a single entry, just leave a comment after this post answering the following question:
What piece of cookware or kitchen gadgetry can you not live without?
If you want to increase your chances of winning, first just follow me on Twitter and/or become a fan of POC Facebook and then let me know you've done so by leaving your username(s) in your comment below. You'll get an extra entry for each! If you're already a follower and/or a fanner (and thank ya kindly, by the way), let me know in your comment and I'll be sure you get the extra entries for being a dear old friend.
So by my very remedial math skills that are limited to halving recipes and reading aloud children's books about counting, if you leave a comment here, follow me on Twitter and become a POC fan on Facebook, that's THREE shots to win $100 worth of free stuff of your choosing. Hooray! Please get your entries in by Wednesday, August 6th by 6:00 p.m. PST. The winner will be announced here on Thursday morning.
If you're one of those gorgeous Canadians and you happen to win, be aware that international shipping costs may apply to your order. Thanks to CSN Stores for sponsoring this sweet giveaway!
I can't live without my Williams Sonoma gold touch cookie sheet. It's the best thing I own!
ReplyDeleteWow, this is a sweet giveaway - thanks for giving us multiple shots at it (which is why, incidentally, I am now following you on Twitter and Facebook, which begs the question: Why didn't I do that sooner?!)!
ReplyDeleteTo answer the big question, I think my can't-live-without piece of cookware or kitchen gadgetry might just be my All Clad griddle. If I didn't have that glorious piece of non-stick goodness, the family might just string me up by my toes for not having skyscraper-high stacks of pancakes ready on the weekends. So since self-preservation is pretty high on my must-have list, that's my final answer. (Incidentally, my Kitchen Aid stand mixer came in a VERY close second. Viva la cookie dough!) :)
Ok I know this is pretty unoriginal, but really the one thing I can't live without in my kitchen is, of course, my Kitchen Aid Mixer. I love that thing to pieces.
ReplyDeleteI'm also following you on twitter. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm a fan of yours on facebook. :)
ReplyDeleteI would definitely use this towards a stand mixer! I still haven't gotten one and this would greatly help!
ReplyDeleteI'm not proud of this, but I really don't think I could live without my mini George Foreman grill. It really is just so convenient!
ReplyDeleteI also "like" you on Facebook!
ReplyDeleteGeorge Foreman grill. Yes, it's sort of a low brow piece as far as the cooking world is concerned, but I'm a vegetarian, and cook all my husband's meat entrees on the Foreman grill. It saves me so much time!
ReplyDeletequitecontrary1977@hotmail.com
So, my favorite piece of kitchen equipment is a toss up between my Le Creuset dutch oven and my All Clad grill pan. (I am also in love with my Wusthof knives.) Oh! And my $0.99 plastic pan scrapper. Couldn't live without it. And of course I follow you on Facebook. (I'm not cool enough for Twitter yet.) You're the best!
ReplyDeleteIt may not be a fancy gadget but I couldn't live without my trusty wooden spoon.
ReplyDeleteI follow you on twitter and subscribe to your blog using the blogger dashboard
I can't live without my big, thick no-name wooden spatula. It stirs, brings doughs together perfectly, scoops, and has even done a very "rustic" chop job for me.
ReplyDeleteWell, I would really hate to part with any of my kitchen gear, but if the house was on fire I'd probably grab my KitchenAid mixer on my way out the door! Thanks so much for a great giveaway.

ReplyDeletemsgb245 at gmail dot com
Wooden Spoon, for sure!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't live without my Kitchen Aid mixer. Cliche, I know, but there it is.
ReplyDeleteNext to that, it's my good spatula. Nothing beats a good spatula, that's what I always say! Okay, that was the first time I've ever actually said it. But I've sure thought it!!
Hope I win!! :)
I am a twitterizing follower!
ReplyDeleteAnd a Facebook liker!!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't live with out my anchor hocking 4 quart mixing bowl. it's perfect for bread dough and it's so big it keeps me from making a mess when I stir.
ReplyDeleteumm...everything? I mean, it's kind of hard to bake without bowls to mix everything in ;]. Or my hand mixer-although maybe if I didn't use my hand mixer my arms would get stronger XD
ReplyDeleteMy cutting board (if that counts as a gadget) -- I have more than one and they're ALWAYS in use, in the sink, or in the dishrack!
ReplyDeleteIf that's not a gadget and my spoonula is...then I choose that!
As soon as I realized you're on twitter, I became a follower (toujoursmelissa) - bonus that I could enter again ;)
ReplyDeleteI can't live without a pastry decorating set (i.e. piping bag and tips). I do not have one, and I feel like dying every time I look through my stack of recipes that require piping tips!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely my Kitchen Aid mixer. Recipes that say "beat for 5-7 minutes" don't scare me anymore! Thanks for the great giveaway. I followed on Twitter and Liked on Facebook.
ReplyDeleteI think the only thing cannot live without is a good knife!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!
I don't use it every day, but my KitchenAid mixer is essential for my annual cookie party where I bake 80-100 cookies of all different types to share with friends during our open house. I could not do the party without it.

ReplyDeleteTwo words: Magic Bullet. No, I didn't purchase it from an infomercial. My grandma got it for us about 5 years ago and we have almost used it to death. Literally. We are planning to get the new one with the blender attachment. Hello, all three of our smoothies all at once. :)
ReplyDeleteI just followed you on twitter - jodiemcnally - and I'm pretty sure I liked you on facebook a long time ago. I can't see the "like" button, so I'm guessing that means I'm good to go.

ReplyDeleteSo hard to choose... I'll have to go with my large le creuset red spatula. I love it and use it for so many things.
ReplyDeleteMy KitchenAid stand mixer is what I couldn't live without.
ReplyDeleteThe KitchenAid mixer is the winner for me, although I love whisks! I love how they look, and how many different kinds you can buy, and how I feel like a true Cook when the recipe tells me I have to whisk something together in a bowl. Very hands on! Of course I'm a fan on Facebook, not a twitter girl though. :) (Shannon Yoder)

Oh my goodness... when we got married, we were given a pair of WS kitchen sheers. When I opened them, I thought, "huh, a pair of sissors." But I seriously use them EVERYDAY! And now they're my "go to" gift for newlyweds.

ReplyDeleteI don't have many cooking appliances, seeing as i'm only a college student, but when I cook at school I can't do without an oven. I studied abroad in Italy and had no oven so I really realized how crucial it is for cooking and baking. I don't know how I survived without it!

Amusingly, my can't-live-without-it item is my apron that I got this last Christmas. Because when you add chocolate powder and a sifter, disasters can occur. Or at least powdered pants :o)
ReplyDeleteI already follow you on Facebook and Twitter, and am thrilled to FINALLY have reliable internet again to start reading all your hilarious and awesome posts again!
I know this is dumb, but i heart my whisk ! the reason being i only discovered the pleasures of using a whisk a few years ago. before, i was all "anti-whisk" suspecting it to be a fancied-up fork for baking. but oh, when i finally decided to use one, i LOVED it ! now, i whisk EVERYthing - even when i could just use a fork :)
ReplyDeleteps : i'm a fan on facebook too ;)
The Kitchen Aid has probably made my life much easier, but I go through rubber spatulas like crazy. So, it's a toss up.

ReplyDeleteI'm also following you on twitter and facebook!
I love my Kitchen Aid for all the mixing alone. But the pasta and ice cream attachments are an extra bonus.
ReplyDeleteI'm already a fan on FB!
Wow, that's a hard question. I would say my trusty wooden spoon. I had to make a cake this past weekend...and gasp, didn't have my Kitchen Aid mixer as I was making it at a friend's house for her son's b-day. Well, my wooden spoon did the trick and I got a nice arm work out in as well : )
ReplyDeleteThanks for the opportunity to win such a great prize
Tough question! I'd have to say my crock pot... I know that's not necessarily a gadget but that counts as cookware, right?

ReplyDeleteA close second: my immersion blender/mini food processor. I would have said my full-size food processor until the little guy broke down last month. Since I am a complete cheese addict, the kitchen gadget I couldn't live without is my cheese grater. Or "sponge ruiner" as we call it in our house.
